WHY is an Inspection sometimes MORE IMPORTANT than the sweep?
Our services differ from other chimney sweep companies as we offer a comprehensive inspection and sweep appointment, rather than just sweeping the chimney blindly which can cause more damage. This inspection will document the current baseline of the chimney system which could be used as evidence should any sudden event damage your chimney.
Our crews are Certified with the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) and the Chimney Safety institute of America (CSIA) therefore are held to a standard of service and accountability for the service we provide.
It's recommended in the NFPA 211 Standards to have your chimney inspected annually and swept as needed, sometimes more often, especially if you use it frequently for heating.
Chimney inspections are important for several reasons:
Regular inspections can help identify potential fire hazards, such as creosote buildup, cracks, or obstructions. These issues can increase the risk of a chimney fire, which can cause significant property damage and even endanger lives.
As part of a sweep and inspection visit, if the flue needs sweeping, the crew will also perform a sweep. A chimney sweep can be as important to help with the removal or reduction of creosote buildup or other debris blockages to help prevent backdrafts of hazardous gases and the proper ventilation of the byproducts of combustion.
When it comes to fire in your home, would you trust just anyone with a brush to inspect and sweep your chimney?
